Workshop description :
1. Introduction to Forensics
• What is forensic science?
• How scientists help solve real-world mysteries
• Overview of the “case” students will investigate
2. Crime Scene Observation (a very kid friendly “crime scene” don’t worry)
• Students examine a simulated crime scene
• Practice careful observation and note-taking
• Identify and document potential evidence
3. Evidence Collection
• Hands-on collection of sample evidence (e.g., fingerprints, fibers, footprints)
• Proper handling and labeling techniques
4. Lab Analysis
• Rotate through simple forensic tests such as:
• Fingerprint matching
• Fiber or material comparison
Learning Goals:
• Develop observation and critical thinking skills
• Understand basic forensic science methods
• Learn how evidence is used to support scientific reasoning
