Step off the screen and into the room. Hosted by Silwal, this session brings together active equity, options, and futures day traders, scalpers, and execution tool builders during #LATechWeek. Trading is won and lost in milliseconds, slippage, and psychological discipline. While retail trading communities stay stuck on social feeds, this gathering focuses on the reality of intraday market mechanics: direct-market access (DMA) routing, real-time Level 2 & time-and-sales tape reading, automation tools, and the shifting liquidity dynamics of modern markets. Whether you trade discretionary size at the opening bell, build automated intraday scripts via broker APIs, or scale algorithmic bots, come talk shop with operators who live in the tape. What We’re Covering Market Open to Close Mechanics: Live discussion on navigating opening imbalance, volatility spikes, and avoiding predatory routing/slippage. Tech Stack for the Modern Day Trader: How active traders are leveraging low-latency broker APIs (Alpaca, Tradovate, Interactive Brokers), Level 2 visualizers, and customized hotkey setups. Fireside with Silwal & Active Traders: Honest breakdown of risk parameters, max-daily-loss killswitches, and moving from discretionary click-trading to systematic hybrid execution. Trader Lounge & Open Mixer: Drinks, bites, and candid networking across the LA day trading and fintech ecosystem. This event is a part of #LATechWeek—a week of events hosted by VCs and startups to bring together the tech ecosystem. Learn more at www.tech-week.com.
