Want to bike around the city, but feeling hesitant? Come to our smart city cycling class taught by San Francisco Bicycle Coalition followed by a group bike ride through the Wiggle from the Panhandle to the Ferry Building. We’ll cover choosing a bike, the rules of the road, biking in traffic, handling intersections, and avoiding collisions :) BYOB (bring your own bike or we can hit up Baywheels!). Join as at the Park Branch Library (1833 Page St) at 6 p.m. for an Intro to City Cycling class hosted by the San Francisco Bicycle Coalition. You can register for the class for free here: https://sfbike.org/event/smart-city-cycling-1-classroom-9/ After the class starting at 7 p.m., some of our esteemed homies will be leading a bike ride through the wiggle, starting at the end of the panhandle at the intersection of Fell and Baker! Bring your bicycles (and helmets) and join the ride! Smart City Cycling Class This is the perfect class for people interested in biking but intimidated by urban traffic, and for anyone who’s already riding and wants to hone their skills. We’ll cover choosing a bike, the rules of the road, biking in traffic, handling intersections, and avoiding collisions. About the San Francisco Bicycle Coalition For over 50 years, the San Francisco Bicycle Coalition has been transforming San Francisco streets and neighborhoods into more livable and safe places by promoting the bicycle for everyday transportation. We are one of the largest and most effective bicycle advocacy groups in the country. Through our day-to-day advocacy, education and working partnerships with City and community agencies, the SF Bicycle Coalition creates safer streets and more livable communities for all San Franciscans. People’s Climate Week is a homegrown climate gathering for young folks in the Bay Area. We aim to create space for practical climate solutions that span individual action, local policy advocacy, and systemic change. Join us May 3-10, 2025, for a week of events centered on sharing knowledge, removing barriers to change, and forging connections.
