On May 8th, we gather to meet the energy of 2 Keme through the Maya Cholq’ij calendar—the sacred expression of duality where life and death move as one. Keme is the guardian of transitions, holding the cycles of death and rebirth and preserving life until its return to Mother Earth. Within this energy, wisdom is revealed through transformation, release, and becoming. In the Maya tradition, the comadronas—the birth workers and abuelas—walk with this cycle, welcoming life and carrying the wisdom of its return. Through cacao, we gather to honor these guardians and the sacred thresholds they hold.
