My birthday is Tuesday, Feb. 3, and I want to celebrate with you 🫶🙏 Come celebrate with us at Apna Chulha at 550 Valencia Street anytime from one to ten PM. When apnachulhasf.com closes, let's go right next door to blondiesbarsf.com 10 - 2 for🍸, a Chrissy Please DJ set, & dancing. Say hi or marathon it all day. Go to haumstudios.com for Juan's 4:30 or Yvonne's 6:15 and come back. I think this will be meaningful and fun. We know and love the owner and his family. Kids, friends, and family welcome. I will sponsor appetizers. You are also welcome to get yourself a delicious dish, meal with friends, or drinks from their full bar 👀 For my birthday I am asking for donations to support Autumn and Beverly Harry's event Journey of a Water Protector, held on the Pyramid Lake Reservation. They built this event and site as a base for creative and critical thinking to protect land, air, and water while sharing its cultural and spiritual message to attendees. They feel this base is their innovative center to building leaders and to continue to share Norm Harry's legacy. Healing Waters Institute continually builds on the foundation from the year before and adds new construction to eliminate high costs of renting of canopies and buying shelters. They also recycle and improve on our sustainable additions. They thank you for contributing to continually adding to their institute. To cover a free ticket for a low income or Indigenous participant is $150. The entire event budget is $15K. It's June 5 - 7 for anyone interested in attending indianyouth.org/water-is-life-dreamstarter-autumn-harrys-journey-of-a-water-protector-event-grounds-organizers-in-honoring-the-land-and-its-history/. You can donate to Autumn in cash in person or at: venmo.com/u/AutumnHarry. I pay 1% of my salary to her since I work and live on her and her people’s land. I also often drive 77.5 miles through the Reservation from Reno to Burning Man and Fly. Both of them will be there 🥳 This is special as it's the in-person version of our 2021 $6.5K virtual birthday fundraiser. We supported gardens, local food, and planter boxes for elders: fb.com/donate/788748681724329 We will have books and magazines about their work and invite them to speak in natural group moments, likely around four, six, and nine. They are land and water protectors, role models, and LAGI Fly Ranch design challenge jurors (flyranch.burningman.org/about#lagi-at-fly-ranch). Beverly's birthday is Feb. 4th, which we'll celebrate 🎉 Autumn is Numu (Northern Paiute) on her paternal side and Diné (Navajo) on her maternal side. She is a member of the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe. Her late father, Norm Harry, was a respected water protector, leader, and Tribal Chair at Pyramid Lake. He taught that "What is good for the fish, is good for the people." Autumn and Beverly protect and support land, water, air, and their relatives. Your donations will help fund the annual Journey of a Water Protector, held in Norm's honor. This work protects the Cui-ui (Kooyooe) and the Lahontan Cutthroat Trout (Agi) 🐟 Pyramid is a 188 square mile lake within the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe's 742 square mile Reservation. The Tribe is a sovereign nation with 15,000+ years of stewardship and 3,000+ enrolled members who manage land, water, and governance. Learn more and book fishing trips with Autumn: kooyooepaaguides.com. You can see Autumn present her Master's Thesis on Burning Man's 2025 Sustainability Update here: https://youtu.be/76qnyU359RY?si=NJh-fMDI_brW2y9W&t=118 Autumn's Congressional Exploratory Committee will be informally meeting during the party as well (Nevada's 2nd District: NV02). I wrote and co-taught a curriculum for Pyramid Lake High School History and English Juniors and Seniors 2019 - '21. The second section is a regional history: drive.google.com/file/d/1S_TGviAvXQOB_sP54knG8WiWzlEPF5gz/view. It’s a continuation of my college thesis on Tupac and social contract theory (scholar.google.com/citations?user=7T42PCoAAAAJ&hl=en). The paper is under review by the American Philosophical Association. I'll be 39. I feel lucky and grateful to a have a spectacular fiancée, wonderful friends and family, and a feeling of home. This has also been a painful, sad, and difficult year, and generally a hard six since the pandemic. I've found and find joy, meaning, and purpose in friendships, dancing, and meaningful work. Thank you for being part of my life, journey, and birthday. Hope to see you soon 🙏 🖖
