We're a small growing collective of gardeners, farmers, and land stewards focused on increasing land access across the city of Austin for everyday residents! Our gracious hosts over at The Yellow Bike Project have invited us to utilize the certified wildlife habitat surrounding their bike shop to grow flora more intentionally, in order to engage our East Austin neighbors with the land. As a community led initiative, our doors are open to welcome in curiosity, exploration, and interaction from our neighbors as we expand the native edible and medicinal plants already growing at the shop.
We are thrilled to share our Walk/Swap/Meet series with the community at large! This monthly offering begins with an informational Plant Walk around the wildlife habit to meet our flora family that call the land home. Bring any plants you have an abundance of, to contribute to our Plant Swap following the walk. Choose from the selection offered at the plant stand in front of the bike shop, or see what new arrivals other grower's bring with them! Please also feel free to bring gently used clothes, pantry items, feminine/personal hygiene products, baby formula, and/or diapers to the swap. We will open the Swap Meet area for the duration of the event for folks to shop and drop-off items. Support your local community garden and fill your home grow space with native plants while meeting your neighbors!
