From Nonprofit to Nurse: Help Rachel Celebrate! Almost 50, absolutely unhinged, and doing it anyway. I'm about to do something a bit wild... After seven years of showing up for community through my work at HAF, I'm leaving my job, going back to school, and becoming a Registered Nurse. Oh yea, and I'm turning 50 soon! I'm equal parts terrified and excited for my next adventure, and want to gather with all of you - my friends, colleagues, neighbors and loved ones - in celebration of these big life transitions. Please join me for a backyard hang out on August 1st. I'm also excited to share that the fabulous & hilarious Bunny St. Claire of Bunny's Glamour Studio fame will be on hand for a photo booth! Guests are welcome to stroll into her booth and have fun taking pictures with friends and fam! Join us: 📅 Saturday, August 1, 2026 🕑 3 pm 📍 2137 C Street, Eureka CA This is a backyard potluck-style gathering... non-alcoholic drinks are covered, bring a dish to share or something to grill if you can, and any beverage you prefer. Come hungry either way! Please no gifts at the party. Your presence and potato salad are enough. Whether you're able to make it to the party or not, below you'll find some lovely ways to support me in this next chapter if you have the means. As a single person with one soon to be part-time income, I will be supporting a household of two (me and a dog with opinions about her food) and going to school at a time when everything is getting more expensive by the day. My life hasn't followed a typical path - no bachelorette party, baby shower, or wedding gifts. It'll just be me, Ruby, and a lot of early morning clinicals and prepping for the NCLEX in my future.
