WaSweets Monthly Workshop
September Theme: Chrysanthemum “Chōyō no Sekku”
WaSweets is delighted to introduce our very first Monthly Workshop — a new series of seasonal gatherings bringing together Japanese culture, wagashi, mindfulness, and creativity.
For our inaugural workshop, we’re celebrating Chōyō no Sekku (重陽の節句), the traditional Japanese chrysanthemum festival associated with longevity and good health.
Together, we’ll explore the season through a hands-on wagashi experience, freshly whisked matcha, and moments of reflection.
THE EXPERIENCE:
🫖 Welcome Tea
Begin with seasonal chrysanthemum tea and an introduction to the tradition behind the day.
🍡 Wagashi-Making
Create two seasonal wagashi:
• Chrysanthemum
• Relaxing Cat
🍵 Freshly Whisked Matcha
Enjoy freshly prepared matcha alongside your handmade wagashi.
🧘🏻♀️ Guided Meditation + Journaling
A gentle seasonal practice centered around rest, presence, transition, and what we wish to release, cultivate, or carry forward.
🎁 A Little Something to Take Home
Each guest will receive a WaSweets-exclusive gift.
