This gathering marks the first return of Seeds of Prayer after a season of quiet, a coming back to the circle after time spent listening, tending, and allowing the medicine to gestate. Seeds of Prayer was the first community-based offering forged by Alexis and holds a special place within her heart and in the community. In a time when the world feels heavy, fast-moving, and uncertain, we are called back to the basics: prayer, presence, and community. This ceremony is an offering to remember that our voices, when woven together with intention, are powerful seeds for the future. We gather to slow down, to strengthen the spirit, and to realign with what truly matters. Through sacred Hapé medicine, song, prayers with tobacco, altar building, and a guided talking circle with another tobacco-based medicine, Ambil, we create a container where intentions can be spoken, grief and hope can be named, and clarity can be restored. Tobacco meets us as a grounding force, supporting integrity, protection, clear thought, and heart-led action in times of chaos. This ceremony is for those who feel called to be held in community, to reconnect with prayer as a living practice, and to sit in communion with Grandfather Tobacco as a guide and teacher. No prior experience with ceremony or Hapé is required, only an open heart and respect for the medicine. The receiving of Hapé is also optional, as we will be communing with tobacco in other ways throughout the night. Again, a portion of the exchange will go to our Indigenous relatives who reside in the Amazon Rainforest. Without them and the sacred lands of the Amazon, we would not have access to the beautiful medicines we get to experience in this event. We carry so much gratitude for all the relatives that live within the jungle who are generous enough to share their traditional medicines & sacred teachings with us. It is our responsibility to give back and amplify their way of life through Seeds of Prayer amidst a time where so much of the societal structure we live in the “West”, threatens their home. A Huni Kuin family from the Pinuya village of the Brazilian Amazon who these funds will be going to, will be visiting MFA in April, so stay on the lookout to connect with them & their wisdom and the bridge that is Nawabu Culture in person! We are fortunate to collaborate with Nawabu Culture to connect communities and allow this work to extend beyond the MFA community and across lands to the lineages that are the heartbeat and voice of the jungle. Please Bring with You: -Water - A cushion, backjack, or pillow for support to sit on the floor (we have some, but a limited amount at the shop) -Altar offering (seeds, fruits, herbs, flowers, leaves, stones, beans, grains, etc) these will be an integral part of our altar building ritual! - A receptacle for the receiving of hapé -If you have any songs, chants, or instruments to share with the community, we encourage you to bring your voice and medicine in that way! Feeling empowered to meet you in this space beloved community! Cheers to being the visionaries of the future. Alexis & Giovanni
