Ages: 5 + : Join us for an exciting introduction to the performing and visual arts! This hands-on sampler gives children the opportunity to explore several artistic disciplines in one engaging experience while building confidence, creativity, and friendships. Over the course of 2 hours, students will rotate through a variety of activities led by Beck Center instructors. Music * 30-minute percussion workshop * Every child gets to play a percussion instrument * Explore rhythm, teamwork, and musical expression Dance * Warm-ups and stretching * Hip-hop basics * Simple choreography * Fun dance battles and movement games Theater * Interactive acting games * Character-building activities * Team-building exercises * The popular Gibberish Translator game, where one actor speaks complete nonsense while another hilariously “translates” for the audience * Character guessing games and improvisation Visual Arts Children will have the opportunity to explore a variety of creative mediums, which may include: * Clay * Cartooning * Poetry * Drawing and other visual art activities More Than Just Art Throughout the experience, children will practice: * Communication * Creativity * Problem solving * Confidence * Collaboration * Public speaking * Imagination The focus is on having fun while discovering new interests in a welcoming, encouraging environment. What Happens Next? This workshop is designed as an Art Sampler, allowing families to experience several disciplines in one visit. If our group has a favorite area, Beck Center also offers opportunities to expand into dedicated classes focused on: * Music * Theater * Dance * Visual Arts This sampler helps families discover what excites their child before committing to a longer program. Little Learners (Ages 0–4) While the older children participate in the sampler, Beck Center also offers a separate 90-minute early childhood arts program designed specifically for ages 0–4 This gives younger siblings an opportunity to enjoy their own age-appropriate music, movement, and creative play experience while the older children explore the arts I’ll need an official final count by Sunday Sept 27 so I can email the teachers Monday morning for class size.
