Mutual Meals

Mutual Meals is a community initiative rooted in reciprocal exchange. Twice a month, we gather for a free shared meal that centers connection, accessibility, and dignity—while also functioning as a moving channel for mutual aid. Our work actively challenges power-over and power-under dynamics by centering people whose lives are most impacted by systems of exclusion, particularly Indigenous folks, disabled people, women, people outside the gender binary, and those with divergent lived experiences. In addition to offering consistently accessible community space, each gathering focuses on a specific mutual aid campaign—most often addressing housing and immediate safety needs. Donations collected during meals are redistributed directly, with transparency and accountability shared through posted updates. Mutual aid is not charity. It is an ongoing practice of giving and receiving, grounded in the understanding that our wellness is interconnected. Whether someone contributes financially, socially, or simply by showing up, they are participating in the exchange.
