A Japanese Tsukemono Pickling Class Vegetables don’t have to be boring and they don’t have to be salads. Join us for a cozy, hands-on pickling class where we’ll explore tsukemono, the traditional Japanese way of preserving and enjoying vegetables using simple seasonings like salt, miso, and citrus. 🥬 What we’ll make (3 types of pickles): • Cucumber Wasabi – fresh & spicy • Yuzu Daikon – bright & aromatic • Misozuke – deep, savory umami ✨ What you’ll learn: • Different types of Japanese pickles (quick vs. fermented) • How pickling supports digestion & gut health • Easy, practical ways to eat more vegetables at home 🥕 What to expect: • All ingredients and tools are provided • Some vegetables may be pre-cut; others you’ll prepare together • You’ll mix seasonings, pack your pickles, and take them home • Recipes will be shared during class 🧑‍🍳 Optional: Feel free to bring your own apron if you’d like. 🛒 Where to buy Japanese seasonings (shared in class): • Sunrise Mart • Dainobu • Mitsuki Japanese Market • Midoriya We’ll also talk about why salt and miso quality matters, and how small ingredient upgrades can make a big difference in flavor and health. Important notes: • Registration is only confirmed after payment is received • No refunds after payment • Tickets may be transferred to a friend if you can’t attend Come curious, leave inspired — and go home with pickles in hand 🥬
