Update: at this month's meetup, our speaker Mick Bransfield will be presenting a workshop on prediction markets and futarchy, including a demo of new prediction market platform Seer (https://seer.pm/). Meetup attendees are encouraged to bring a laptop to participate in the workshop. Mick will provide ~$20 worth of funds to participants to use for trading on Seer's demo platform during the workshop. Mick is a prediction market analyst and researcher, one of the foremost experts on the regulation of prediction markets. He is the founder and principal of Kingston Chase Consulting, LLC, a data analytics consultancy. He holds a Master’s in Business Analytics from the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business and McIntire School of Commerce, and a bachelor’s in American Politics from the University of Virginia’s College of Arts and Sciences. -- Join us for our monthly DC Forecasting & Prediction Markets meetup, a very casual meetup to meet and socialize with others interested in forecasting, prediction markets, political gambling, sports betting, or anything else relating to predicting the future. We’re returning to Rocklands BBQ in Arlington a few blocks from the Virginia Sq-GMU metrorail stop on the Orange/Silver line. Free parking also available. We’ll be in the private space upstairs; head to the back of the restaurant, and up the stairs on your left. Food and drink (alcoholic and non-alcoholic alike) are available for purchase, and encouraged to continue to enable us to use the private space free of charge. Open to all ages.
