RSVP to the first solo exhibition of photography by Julian Valgora, presented at The Greenpoint Gallery in Brooklyn! The show will feature new and unseen work by Julian, accompanied by live music from local NYC composers and bands. Bring friends and family for a lively night in the heart of New York's alternative art scene! Drinks will be available at the gallery bar.
Inspired by moments of escape from everyday life, Julian's practice draws from architecture, art history, and fashion to capture dreamlike tableaux across New York's liminal spaces. His first show 'Destinations' invites viewers to consider the ways in which people strive for direction, agency, and meaning while pursuing futures unknown.
Established in 2003 by artist and musician Shawn James, The Greenpoint Gallery is a dual exhibition space, non-profit arts organization, and community hub. Their mission support emerging and underrepresented artists by providing an inclusive platform for showcasing new work and fostering creative exchange. Housed in a converted warehouse, the space hosts regular group shows, open calls, and performances that reflect the dynamic spirit of Brooklyn’s art scene.
To arrive at The Greenpoint Gallery, take either the G train to Greenpoint Ave and walk for 9 minutes, or take the 7 Train to Vernon Blvd Jackson Ave and walk 10 minutes over the bridge.
