Black Nostalgia Closing Reception

Hosted by
¬‿¬
Black Nostalgia is a solo exhibition of collage works by Brooklyn-based artist Nia Imani Winslow (b. 1989), curated by Danielle Rowe. The exhibition excavates the parasocial relationship between Black culture and its audience across two pivotal decades - from the Black Power movement of the 1970s to the turn of the millennium - eras defined by the commodification of Blackness through disco, then hip hop, rendering Black life simultaneously hyper-visible and deeply misunderstood. Join us for the closing reception featuring an artist talk, live music, complimentary beverages by Six Nineteen of 1865, mocktails by MAD FLORA, bites, and more. Saturday, June 20 • 4-7 PM Loudmouth Gallery • 348 Marcus Garvey Blvd, 1st Floor, Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn
