In a world that feels increasingly unpredictable, the most powerful resource we have is each other.
Join us for a lively, practical, community-centered introduction to resilience led by Shirah Wagner — certified emergency management specialist, CERT responder, and founder of Resilient Peeps - https://www.resilientpeeps.com/.
Shirah has spent years helping neighborhoods, families, and workplaces get prepared for the unexpected: floods, civil unrest, earthquakes, pandemics, power failures, and everything in between. Her approach blends grounded emergency know-how with trauma-informed tools that make preparedness feel human, doable, and even empowering.
Over the course of two hours, with Q&A woven throughout, you’ll learn the essential skills and mindsets needed to stay calm and capable when things get weird — and how to turn your immediate circle into a resilient micro-community rather than isolated individuals.
This is our first step as Lightning Society toward building collective readiness, with opportunities to regroup and go deeper into local, neighborhood-based action.
If recent years have taught us anything, it’s that resilience isn’t built alone — it’s built together. Come get the knowledge, connection, and confidence to face uncertainty not with panic, but with preparedness and community strength.
Note: Shirah is located in Oakland, California so she will be joining us via Zoom, projected onto our giant stage!
