You took the photo, now what? Join us for an afternoon workshop on The Art of Photo Editing with our July BXposed Artist: Kumo Shai. This workshop will help you gain a better understanding in what happens after you press the camera shutter and how photo editing fits into the overall creative process. Kumo will guide folks through his own work flow when it comes to reviewing and selecting images especially for commercial and private clients. He will also cover some basic photo editing and post-processing concepts that help enhance rather than overpower your images. The goal is for participants to leave feeling more confident when it comes to evaluating their own images and to begin developing a consistent and manageable workflow from shoot to final image. Shamel Ridley artistically known as Kumo Shai (b. 1992, Bronx, New York) is a multidisciplinary artist and photographer whose practice moves between documentary photography and portraiture. Working with both analog and digital processes, he creates images that explore place, memory and the relationships between people and their environments. His photographs often blur the line between observation and collaboration, inviting viewers to reconsider the familiar through moments of symbolism, and quiet presence. Shai is the recipient of a BRIO (Bronx Recognizes Its Own) award from the Bronx Council on the Arts. His work has been exhibited in New York and featured in Interview Magazine and Highsnobiety. He lives and works in New York City. What to bring (optional, but recommended): A laptop if you’d like to follow along during the editing portion Your camera (DSLR, mirrorless, or phone) Memory cards and SD card reader
