Come meet your neighbors and their cats on a cat safari around Mount Pleasant!
What is a cat safari? We meet up to take a walk together around Mt Pleasant on a guided route to enjoy our neighborhood and admire its cutest occupants. Participants have already signed up to be stops on the tour, but feel free to reach out if you’re interested. Inspired by a similar annual event in Minneapolis: https://wedgelive.com/cat-tour/
We’ll gather at Lamont Plaza at 11am for some announcements and start out at 11:20 sharp. The route will be around 2 miles through Mt Pleasant with frequent stops at different houses to see some cats along the way.
The walk will conclude at Ellē, Mt. Pleasant’s favorite cat-loving establishment, where we’ll have space to get your own refreshments and hang out with your neighbors.
What to bring: walking shoes, water, signs proclaiming your love for cats, cat costumes, friends who also love cats, your friendly cat contained in a backpack or stroller (For the walk portion — Note that no pets are allowed inside our final stop at Ellē so please plan accordingly.)
*Please do not bring your dog to this event. We love dogs too but want all kitty participants to feel comfortable.
This event is completely free, but you are encouraged to donate to the Humane Rescue Alliance (linked above) or a local pet shelter of your choice. If this event convinces you to get your very own cat, we encourage you to adopt!
