As part of their European tour, The DANCE: Between Polarity arrives in Barcelona for an intimate exhibition hosted within the historic Studio 46—founded by master engraver and printmaker Joan Barbarà. This storied space has welcomed some of the most influential artists of the 20th century, including Pablo Picasso, Joan Miró, Salvador Dalí, and Henri Matisse, lending a profound sense of artistic legacy to the experience.
Featuring Bailey & Christi Lalonde, the Costa Rica–based artist duo, the exhibition continues its exploration of tension and balance through a figurative, abstract expressionist lens. With a focus on boxing and the female form, their work captures the interplay of strength and vulnerability, where gesture and movement become a language of emotional intensity.
The evening will also include select special guest artists from Studio 46, offering a rare dialogue between contemporary practice and the enduring spirit of the atelier.
Set within this historically rich environment, the exhibition invites a close and considered encounter with the work—where past and present converge in a shared exploration of form, energy, and expression.
