What makes someone right or wrong and who gets to decide? Welcome to the first Wine & Debates, a night for good wine, good conversation, and opinions that might get you a few side eyes. 😂 For our first gathering, we’re stepping into the gray area. We’ll debate questions about morality, loyalty, honesty, money, friendship, family, relationships, and the choices we make when there isn’t an obvious “right” answer. A few questions on the table: 🍷 Is lying okay if the truth would only hurt someone? 🍷 Do you owe your parents anything simply because they raised you? 🍷 If your friend cheats, is it your responsibility to tell their partner? 🍷 Can revenge ever be justified? 🍷 Is stealing still wrong if you’re doing it to survive? 🍷 Should you forgive someone who has genuinely changed but never apologized? 🍷 Is it wrong to marry primarily for financial security? 🍷 Can someone be a bad person but still be a good parent? 🍷 Does intention matter more than the outcome? 🍷 If doing the “wrong” thing produces the better outcome, was it actually wrong? And then we’ll play POUR OR DEFEND 🥂 Pull a morally questionable statement from the bowl. You have 60 seconds to defend it, whether you agree with it or not. Don’t want to defend it? Pour. 🍷 There are no winners, no formal debate rules, and definitely no requirement to agree.
