GIDDYUP for the year of the Fire Horse ❤️‍🔥🐎 Every year we look forward to programming Lunar New Year, and this year we're excited to offer something for everyone all day long! We’re partnering with some of our favorite artists to join us in celebration as we welcome this year with lion dancing, live music, delicious drinks, art, special merch and more! Kick off your celebratory evening with us starting at 7pm: 7-7:30p: Lion dance by W.O.W. Project (@wowprojectnyc). W.O.W Project is the only all-queer, trans, and women lion dance troupe in NYC. Founded in 2016, WOW strengthens Manhattan’s Chinatown community through arts, activism, and cultural organizing. 7:30p: Dance to sounds by Bea Trinidad (@beatricetrinidad) featuring cantopop, hip hop, RnB, house and more 7-10p: Enjoy special LNY cocktails and light bites by Land to Sea and a fun horse drawing competition :-) Or come by the cafe in the daytime (no need to rsvp for these)! 8a-6p: The cafe will be open all day long featuring mooncakes, LNY merch and some…fiery… specialty drinks 1-3p: Artist Tzu Ching Chen/Jessy (@tzucc0201) will be at the shop writing custom calligraphy Lunar New Year couplets. Bring one home to welcome good fortune in the New Year. 3-5p: Live TCM Ear Seeding by Bec (@bec__q). Based in Traditional Chinese Medicine, ear seeds are a from of auriculotherapy, a noninvasive acupressure, which uses pressure points in the ear to help stimulate other parts of the body and manage symptoms of anxiety, stress, and pain.
