Police Encounters: A Community Discussion

Hosted by

RSVPs closed Fri, Feb 6th
This is an opportunity to share your feedback on local policing, and hear about resources in place to support you. Representatives from the Office of the Community Liaison will teach a workshop about your rights during police encounters on the street, and can report any negative experiences members of the public have had with “stop and frisk” to the federal monitor who is empowered to investigate. We will also hear directly from a representative of the Civilian Complaint Review Board, and the Center for Policing Equity, on how their organizations are working to make life safer and more equitable for marginalized communities. Finally, we will open the floor to hear your questions and concerns on policing in New York City. The discussion will be grounded in the truth and justice of Christ's kingdom, with diverse perspectives welcome!
