Setbacks don’t stop purpose… they reveal the power of community. What we’re building with this festival has always stood for something bigger...freedom, resilience, unity, and showing up for one another. And right now, we’re living that message in real time. Recently, three members of T.E.A.M L.A.M.B & Creatives for Virginia were involved in a devastating car accident. 2 members were airlifted from Halifax to ECU Medical Center in Greenville and the other to WakeMed in Raleigh, North Carolina. Unfortunately, we also suffered the heartbreaking loss of our team dog (Gellie) in the accident. By God’s grace, they survived, but the road to recovery is still ahead. • Keena suffered a broken ankle, arm, wrist, fingers, and a fractured back • Sonya suffered a broken pelvis and femur and has undergone surgery • Israel suffered a broken pelvis and knee, 3 blood transfusions, and has undergone 2 surgeries with the possibility of needing another • Unfortunately, we suffered the heartbreaking loss of our team pet in the accident as well. In the midst of preparing for the Juneteenth Stop The Violence Festival, we’ve been forced to reset, but not give up. We’ve launched a GoFundMe to support their recovery and to help us continue building this experience for our community the way it deserves. If you’ve ever believed in showing up, standing together, and pushing through....this is that moment. Help us rise. Help us continue. Help us make Juneteenth powerful. 🖤 Donate. Share. Support. 🖤 Stand with T.E.A.M L.A.M.B 🖤 Stand with Creatives for Virginia
