Come and join us for our last Qties before the summer break!! Agenda: 6-7 pm: bring your own bowl, spoon, and ingredients (peanut butter, chocolate chips, strawberries! The options are endless) to make, share, and eat ice cream using liquid nitrogen. We will have volunteers to help you make ice cream 7-8 pm: Screening of film "Angela Davis: Portrait of a Revolutionary" (length 56 mins), followed by a short Q&A/open discussion About Qties: The Qties - Queer Talent in Engineering & Science - Monthly Soiree is a social gathering hosted at the UCLA School of Engineering for everyone in our campus and extended community to gather, commune, laugh, and rejoice as a form of free expression, liberation, and gesturing towards justice. Our purpose is simple: to normalize expressions of queerness - whatever that may mean to you - in our School by being our genuine selves. Every month, this informal BYOB, BYOF, BYOVibes-style gathering ranges from music performances, to playing boardgames, to teach-in and guest speakers, to art shows, drag events, or simply having a good catch up with an old or new friend. This is a social by and for the community, we're just providing the space and minimal structure, the rest is up to us, how and what we wanna show up to. The sky is the limit! All members of our broader community (queer and allies, campus and non-campus) are welcome! Host: Sergio Carbajo, Engineering and Physics Professor Pay what you can: your presence and energy is all we need. All collected funds will be used to support the queer community on campus, students, activists, scientists, and artists. Visitor Parking: https://transportation.ucla.edu/campus-parking/visitors
