I’ve never been to a comedy taping. How is it different than a live show?
Great question! It means we’ll be filming it almost like a sitcom. You, the wonderful audience, are there to provide real human laughter (the heartier the better), just like a regular comedy show. The difference is, you may experience some interruptions as we “retake” sections to make sure that we’ve recorded it clearly for camera and sound.

I’m coming! I’m DEFINITELY coming!
Great! Partiful will send you reminders. If for any reason you are unable to make it, please **do not** text me day of— simply update your RSVP.
----------------
OK but for real I’m coming!
Awesome! I still know how it goes. If you’re unsure if you’re coming, please mark it a maybe so I can get an accurate headcount.
----------------
Is there a two item minimum?
NOPE! I’ll have a few drink options in coolers but feel free to BYOB (and please do, in case you hate my selection).
----------------
OK I know how comedy shows are— what’s the real start time?
Doors open at 630 and we will begin seating. Show begins promptly at 7. Please don’t be cool LA comics today of all days. I love you, I want to stay friends, please don’t try to slip into the back halfway through.
----------------
How late will it go?
Roughly 9pm.
----------------
What if I have to leave early?
The reason for not ticketing it like a regular comedy show is that instead of paying for an experience to be served to you, you are actually acting as a fundamental part of the special taping experience. By serving as the live audience, you are contributing to the making of my special, and directly helping me share my comedy with a wider audience. I deeply appreciate you being there the whole time so we can capture the show with as little interruption as possible.
----------------
Maxi, you’re a little bit nuts, you know that?
Trust me, I know.
----------------
Where can I cool my heels beforehand if I want to get there early but not feel in the way?
Just around the corner is a great bar and restaurant (Boneyard Bistro).
----------------
How’s the parking situation?
Plenty of street parking but it’s on Ventura Blvd, so there’s some competition for restaurant parking. Next to the studio on ‘Allott’ is a paid parking lot with a good number of spaces.
----------------
What’s the plan after the show?
Me and the crew will be packing up so the studio can return to its normal operations. We plan on heading next door to Boneyard Bistro afterwards for a wrap celebration if it doesn’t take us too long, so that’s the best place to head if you want to stick around and revel!
----------------
I’m not coming (you’re welcome for my honesty.) How can I still support?
Donations accepted and greatly appreciated via Venmo @MaxiW ! Even $5 helps offset production costs, as well as keeps the mobsters off my back for all the coffee money they’ve loaned me during this process.
