The 33rd Annual New York African Film Festival is back!
One of their feature films is "The Eyes of Ghana," a showing with never-before-seen footage of Ghana's independence movement during Kwame Nkrumah's time
Movie description:
"The Eyes of Ghana" is not only a documentary but also a reclaiming of Kwame Nkrumah's vision for Africa.
The film, produced and executive produced by Barack and Michelle Obama, tells the story of Chris Hesse, who was Nkrumah's personal cinematographer and film chronicler for Ghana's early years of independence.
The documentary explores how Nkrumah envisioned a continent that reverses the images of colonialism by telling its own stories.
It made its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival and has received enthusiastic reviews for its historical significance and the impact of cinema on African liberation.
Note: This invite is to spread the visibility of this film showing and give everyone a chance to watch together
