Andrew is a physicist at Calico and recently co-discovered magnetic responsivity in fluorescent proteins. It’s one of my favorite discoveries because it’s so basic; fluorescent proteins have been around for 80 years, yet a secret about them was uncovered only now.
Whenever we meet, Andrew always has amazing stories about scientific discovery and play. I’ve invited him to share some of these stories at our house and jam about microscopes, magnetic fields, and anything he wants.
