Drawing the human form is a long-standing practice in the visual arts, but what happens when it’s moving? At this event, artists will be asked to look at dancers and capture what they see from the movement. As you sketch, paint, or create the movement on paper, the dancers and choreographer will also be piecing together new choreography that responds to prompts given by the participants. No drawing or painting experience is necessary. Materials will be provided but feel free to bring your own if desired.
This event will start with a warm-up, followed by three 20-minute cycles of creation, and end with a chance to share work, mingle, and connect with others. One drink from the cafe included!
This event was born out of an ongoing Dancers in Motion collaboration between Genia Blaser and Sarah Yasmine Marazzi-Sassoon that began in the winter of 2024.
