Instructor: Cari "Eva" Mercer is a fine art black & white portrait photographer, visual storyteller, and lifelong artist.
Class Description:
Most of us move through the world edited. Contained. Performing a version of ourselves that feels acceptable but not entirely true.
The Seen Self is an experiential class designed to help you reconnect with the part of you that feels underused, quieted, or afraid to take up space.
This is not about posing, looking pretty, or knowing what to do with your body. We use movement and photography as tools to bypass performance and access something more honest, something felt rather than forced. You will be guided through simple, intuitive movement prompts while being photographed in motion. This helps remove the pressure to be “seen correctly” and allows you to be seen truthfully. What emerges is not an image of how you look, but an image of how you exist.
Materials: No cameras needed. You don’t even need to be comfortable in front of a camera or know how to move. You just need to be willing to show up as you are.
