Trans Junction @ Trans Lineage: Rites of Passage

Hosted by Joy Who Lived
We're going to see Trans Lineage: Rites of Passage on Dec 5th at 7:30pm! Come be in community with us, and then stay and socialize after - there's a food truck across the street and the theater is keeping their patio open an extra hour after the show just for us! Please bring anyone you like, of course. Tickets are sliding scale for accessibility, starting at just $10. Rites of Passage is directed by Joy Who Lived alum Nico Pang (Passion of the Cut Sleeve), produced by JWL Director of Community Petey Gibson, and starring an all trans/gnc cast including JWL alums Alex Song-Xia and Lee Baladejo! Show info and tickets here: https://greenwaycourttheatre.org/rites/ —------------------ After last year’s sold-out run, Celebration Theatre's beloved Trans Lineage project (formerly known as Tales of the Transcestors) returns with a brand new one-act trilogy: Rites of Passage. Now in its fourth year, and co-produced with Greenway Arts Alliance, this program’s bold new works trace the moments and thresholds that shape us and our lineages—personal, cultural, spiritual, and historical. This year’s show, featuring electric world premiere pieces by three trans playwrights, explores rites of passage across centuries and cultures: a Black transmasculine griot reclaiming ancestral memory, a transfeminine nun confronting faith and isolation during the bubonic plague, and a gay Korean trans man trying to outrun aging and “twink death.”
