Let It Rain is a free-flow, communal grief ritual created to make space for release, connection, and love. Inspired by ancient traditions of communal lament and the Wailing Women, this gathering is not religious and is open to all.
Before the New Year arrives in spring, we gather to continue shedding the old skin of this snake year, releasing what no longer serves and honoring all forms of grief. This space welcomes grief for loved ones who have become ancestors, relationships that didn’t align, jobs, betrayals, old versions of self, fear, trauma, and unspoken pain.
Participants are invited to move their bodies in praise and intuitive dance, engage in earth-based ritual with fresh soil (burying or planting what they are grieving), release through sound and righteous expression, and rest in community. The gathering will close with an optional, platonic cuddle puddle for those who wish to be held with softness and care.
There is no expectation for how to show up. All expressions of grief (tears, wailing, anger, joy, silence, and stillness) are all welcome. This is a consent-centered, intuitive space where nothing is forced and all expressions are honored.
