EBPG October 13 - Potluck + Skill share: Neighborhood Organizing to build resilience Date & Time: Monday, October 13, 2025 5:45 pm Doors Open 6–8:30 PM Program & Socializing Location: a PLACE for Sustainable Living (1121 64th St., Oakland) Bring: A dish to share (please label allergens), your reusable plate/cup/utensils, flyers or resources, and your ideas! This month we will focus on NEIGHBORHOOD ORGANIZING. Learn how small-scale, people-powered strategies can reduce risk, build solidarity, and protect our communities from both earthquakes and climate disruption. Special Guest Presentation: Shirah Wagner (founder of Resilient Peeps) will present about neighborhood organizing for disaster resilience. She will share community organizing tips and home disaster preparedness; as well as share about events and projects that she has organized in her own Oakland neighborhood. Shirah brings expert insights (from her comprehensive neighborhood organizing work in the Lake Merritt area) as well as accessible materials and ideas to help you start to organize in your own neighborhood, including the newly formed East Bay Neighborhood Resilience Network.
