Are you tired of having to pay $75 just to run 3 miles?! That's what the Katy Trail 5K has come to. I guess they said goodbye community and hello profit. We understand that it takes time and money to pay your vendors, workers, etc. But give me a break, why would anyone want to pay $75 to compete in a race that only offers you a t-shirt and a free drink once it's over? Alas, I want to offer you competitors a chance to compete in a race that is more unique than the Katy Trail itself. The $5 5K is a one of a kind race that introduces the same elements of the Katy Trail 5K but with much more! Not only will you get a free drink, but the man and woman with the fastest 5K time will receive a cash prize. You can run a 5K on your own time, get a free shirt just for donating blood, and get a free drink if you find a man/woman who is charming enough to buy you one. What you won't find is a race that offers a cash prize, free drinks, and potentially a best-designed shirt contest (if the budget allows it). Come one, come all. Do not be afraid to join because your friends haven't. Be afraid to join out of fear of having too much fun. Please arrive 30 mins before the race begins so the entry fee can be collected.
