Since opening night, James Frost’s Don’t F&%ing Touch Me* has brought wave after wave of artists, Hermosans, and fine art fans through our garage door. People came to stare, to think, to feel, and to talk (sometimes too much—James would definitely prefer less of that). The response has been electric, and we couldn’t be more proud to have launched Not Shockboxx with this kind of energy.
James’ paintings have done exactly what we believe art should do: spark conversation, make people a little perplexed, and still hang beautifully on your wall. His ability to balance classical technique with raw portraiture while adding humor and wonder is rare, and this show has proven just how much his voice is needed in today’s world.
Now it’s time to celebrate the finale. Join us for the closing reception on Saturday, September 20, from 12–2pm. James will be here himself, and while we’ve placed many works in happy new homes, there are still incredible pieces available. If one has been calling your name, this is the moment to make it yours. Message us and let's negotiate.
Finally—thank you. To Mike Collins for his guidance, to the past Shockboxx artists who’ve carried their support into this new era, to the other Hermosa galleries who showed up, and to everyone who walked through our doors in the last few weeks—your support means the world. Not Shockboxx exists because of this community, and this first show has been proof that our black box of art is alive and unafraid.
