Spend a summer evening getting creative in the park! In this beginner-friendly pottery workshop, you’ll hand-build and decorate your own ceramic picture frame, perfectly sized for a Polaroid, Instax photo, or another small memory you’d like to display.
The workshop will be led by Erin (@eecpottery), a ceramic artist and instructor in Brooklyn with several years of teaching experience. Materials will be provided throughout the workshop, including tools, decorative underglazes, and clay. Enough clay will be provided for each participant to make one picture frame and additional clay will be available for purchase. The price of the ticket includes the cost of materials, instruction, two firing cycles for the piece (bisque and glaze), a polaroid of you (if you don't already have a photo for the frame), and the labor in firing and glazing the pieces by the instructor after they are made by your lovely hands!
Space is limited to 22 participants. The workshop will take roughly two hours, including time for a demonstration by the instructor for various techniques, and individual work time.
Tickets are offered on a sliding scale from $35–$75. Level 1 and Level 2 tickets include the same full workshop experience; simply choose the price that best reflects your current financial circumstances. Level 3 tickets include extra clay and firing of an additional piece for no extra cost! Thank you for helping make this workshop accessible to all!
Please dress comfortably for working with clay and sitting outdoors. I'll bring the bug spray! Can't wait to meet you there! :)
