We gather in community to honor ancestral medicine, land-based wisdom, and elemental relationship — guided by Maestra Estela Román, a traditional curandera and cultural knowledge keeper.
This offering introduces Los Aires, an ancestral teaching from Mexico that speaks to the winds and forces of nature who move through body, land, and spirit.
These winds — the Aires — are protectors, messengers, and teachers. They come to guide us back to ourselves, to remind us of our soul’s path, and to support our liberation through choice, awareness, and ritual.
As Estela shares:
“The Aires are forces of nature that guard our sacred spaces — as winds they are often perceived as messengers. They have come to guide you and protect you from losing your soul.
They come not to stay. They come to teach you and go.”
In this workshop, you will learn:
🌬️ What the Aires are
🌿 How they move through the body
💨 Why ignoring their messages creates disharmony
🔥 Practices, herbs, and limpias to harmonize the Aires
🌎 How elemental forces support both personal and collective healing
Estela will also share personal stories from her lineage, lived experience, and ceremonial practice — offering insight into how these teachings live within body, land, and community.
🌱 Why This Offering
This gathering activates the Land Magic & Art track within Elemental Activism — connecting ritual, ecology, and ancestral remembering as pathways toward regeneration and liberation.
We also acknowledge that we are living in a time of extreme violence and repression against many of our communities and offer these teachings and this ritual as medicine towards healing this Collective wound.
We offer this class as a seed — a beginning. Future possibilities include study groups and cohort-style learning with Maestra Estela for those called to deepen this path
🌟 About Maestra Estela Román
Maestra Estela Román received training in holistic medicine from the Instituto Mexicano de Medicinas Tradicionales, apprenticing with respected curanderos including Doña Enriqueta Contreras. She also holds a Master’s degree in International Peace Studies from the University of Notre Dame.
Her work includes herbalism, temazcal, bodywork, limpias, and trauma-healing practices. She is the author of Nuestra Medicina and Ixchel y su Encuentro con la Luna.
Estela teaches that true healing begins with the love of oneself, grounded in practice, humility, and devotion to spirit
