Playing Koi is making a splash at our September Mega Meet Up with graceful koi, tranquil waters, blooming lotus flowers, and an artful celebration of creativity inspired by the beauty of East Asian design. This month’s theme draws inspiration from ornamental koi ponds, traditional patterns and illustrations, peaceful gardens, delicate florals, fans, lanterns, flowing water, and the beautiful symbolism often associated with koi. Think rich reds, inky blacks, warm golds, jade greens, and soft water blues paired with intricate patterns and artistic details that feel both timeless and inspiring. We’ll be gathering in the Community Room at the flagship Half Price Books, located toward the back of the store, for an afternoon of journaling, creativity, and community. And with shelves and shelves of books just steps away, it’s the perfect setting to get inspired, find a few vintage treasures, and spend the day creating with fellow JJC members. As one of our Mega Meet Ups, you can expect an extra-special themed scrap pack filled with koi-inspired ephemera, decorative papers, florals, traditional motifs, and thoughtfully curated embellishments designed to bring the peaceful beauty of the theme into your journal. Bring your favorite supplies, settle in with friends, and let your creativity flow as we spend the afternoon Playing Koi!
