Hosted by Microsoft x NYU CGA Ethical Tech CoLab Join us for an intimate lightning talk and showcase of the NYU Ethical Tech CoLab's Summer 2026 cohort - 4 projects tackling one big question: How Can Emerging Tech Serve the Human Condition? From AI-informed evacuation decisions to verifiable provenance for cultural artifacts, auditable supply chains, and AI-mediated diplomacy simulation. We're bringing together researchers, policy practitioners, and civic-minded builders to explore what happens when AI meets disaster response, cultural heritage, supply chains, and diplomacy. You must be registered to attend the event. 3:00–3:30 PM: LIGHTNING TALKS Get to know our projects with quick, high-signal talks from the cohort building at the frontier of: - AI for crisis & evacuation decision-making - Provenance & the ethical return of cultural artifacts - Verifiable, auditable supply chain traceability - Multi-agent simulation for high-stakes diplomacy Each speaker shares their contribution and the tech behind it to inspire and prepare you before we rotate everyone through each project corner. 3:30–5:00 PM: BREAKOUT DEEP-DIVES We'll rotate groups through every project corner on a set schedule: each hosted by the cohort members behind it. This isn't a sit-back-and-listen session - get your hands on the tools, ask the questions the lightning talks didn't have time for, and shape where the work goes next. - How it works: walk through the tech stack and design decisions with the builders - Who it's for: how different audiences (responders, institutions, negotiators, researchers) would actually engage with the tool - Where you'd take it: your comments, critiques, and ideas go straight into the project roadmap Come ready to poke, question, and play: the best sessions happen when everyone's in the conversation. Your feedback and input goes into future work on these projects and into prepping a more fleshed-out hackathon coming this fall. 5:00–5:30 PM: NETWORKING Stick around to keep the conversations going, with light refreshments provided. Whether you're researching information equity, working in humanitarian response or cultural policy, or just curious how AI can be built responsibly, this is your playground. 👥 Who Should Attend - Students & researchers exploring ethical/civic tech - Policy & nonprofit practitioners in disaster response, heritage, labor rights, or diplomacy - Builders who want their tech to matter - Anyone with opinions: the breakout discussions run on your questions and suggestions 🎟️ Spots are limited. RSVP early to secure your place.
