Your Next Exec Won't Be Human - #NYTechWeek

The startup org chart is breaking. Founders are under pressure to move faster, stay leaner, and build more with less. But the old answer (hire a full executive team, add more headcount, and hope the org chart catches up) no longer works for most early-stage companies. At the same time, two new forms of leverage are changing how startups operate: AI agents and senior fractional. AI agents open up a nearly infinite set of opportunities to automate tasks, redesign workflows, monitor execution, and support day-to-day operations. Fractional leaders give founders access to experienced operators across go-to-market, product, operations, finance, engineering, design, people, and strategy without the cost or commitment of premature full-time hires. But for early-stage founders, the hard part is knowing how to put those pieces together. Which roles need senior human judgment? Which functions should be fractional before they become full-time? Which tasks are ready for agents? What should stay founder-led, what should be delegated to expert operators, and what should become an AI-enabled workflow? This NY Tech Week session helps founders answer those questions. Felix, the AI CEO of The Masinov Company, Build Momentum, and Founders & Fractionals will guide founders through a practical, hands-on session for redesigning the early-stage operating team around founder ownership, fractional talent, future full-time hires, and AI agents. The program includes: A quick demystification of AI agents for early-stage founders What agents are, what they can realistically do today, where they are useful, and where the hype gets ahead of reality. A focused discussion on building with fractional talent How founders can access senior operators across key functions without overhiring too early, and how to scope fractional support around outcomes instead of vague advisory work. An interactive operating team mapping exercise Participants will identify the tasks, roles, workflows, and bottlenecks inside their business, then draft the ideal mix of founder ownership, fractional leaders, full-time hires, and AI agents. A real-world AI executive example Felix will show how an AI executive can support prioritization, execution, monitoring, follow-up, and day-to-day company management inside a real operating business. Founders will leave with a first draft of their hybrid operating roadmap: what to own, what to fractionalize, what to hire for later, and what to turn into AI-agent workflows. This event is a part of #NYTechWeek—a week of events hosted by VCs and startups to bring together the tech ecosystem. Learn more at www.tech-week.com.
