INTIMACY IN MOTION ~ ART SHOW at The Faight Collective San Francisco on Wednesday, August 19 from 7-10pm <3 featuring HOLD a live puppet theater piece by Odd Savvy. Our friends are so incredibly talented WOW, what if I gathered a bunch of us for an art show in the city?? It's happening. Come celebrate and bask in community art. TIMING ✨ 7:00pm - Doors open ✨ 7:30pm - HOLD by Odd Savvy, a 30 minute puppet theater performance ✨ 8:15-10:00pm - Continuing into to evening of intimacy in motion art & performances + Sound Pour jazz & wine downstairs ✨ 10:00pm - Closing in community WHAT IS THIS? WHY? A theme I've continued to explore in my contact improvisation practice and visual art is INTIMACY IN MOTION. So that's what we'll be diving into tonight. This is a curated community art gallery exploring the theme of INTIMACY IN MOTION. Interactive & live performances (physical theatre, puppetry, and more), artist Q&As - all the art upstairs and relax downstairs with jazz & natural wine in collaboration with The Faight's Sound Pour. ABOUT THE THEME Slowing down. Pausing. Listening. Dropping into that epic relational vortex. Luxuriating in the collective research of deep listening and conversation through the whole body. When we chose to listen what's present in the relational motion and what surprises are revealed? I am endlessly curious about what happens when entering into our innate preverbal ways of simply being together as a vehicle for art making and personal development. All artists and performers will be showcasing their work along the swirly lines of intimacy in motion. ABOUT HOLD (Performance starts at 7:30pm) HOLD is a minimalist tabletop puppet theater piece for two performers and one live musician. Drawing deep inspiration from the physical poetry of Pina Bausch and the meditative, metaphysical tone of Andrei Tarkovsky, this work explores the terrain of memory and loss. At the center of the performance is a solitary figure navigating a silent landscape disturbed only by the arrival of something unseen.
