Want to meet other people interested in science, poetry, and the connections between stars & stanzas, verse & velocity? Join your local non-profit arts club @difficultfriends Wednesday, August 26 at BRB Coffee for a free creative writing workshop featuring local poets and scientists. https://www.instagram.com/difficultfriends/ We'll be starting off with two short lectures by Dr. Andrew Loveridge and Madalyn Riana Gragg of UT Austin's Physics Department. Followed by a poetic writing exercise led by Austin-based poet Dante Daniel Vargas! This event is designed to be accessible to complete beginners to physics and poetry! So do not worry, no matter your experience level, we hope you'll come join us in reflecting on the natural world's beauty and intricacy. Writers who attend this workshop will also receive priority at our upcoming open poetry mic themed around stars and stargazing (hosted, naturally, at Stargazer on September 7). ✨ Your Hosts ✨ Your hosts for this event will be UT Austin researchers Dr. Andrew Loveridge and Madalyn Riana Gragg + local writers Dante Daniel Vargas and Rachel Summer Cheong.
