The end is near!! Join us on August 1st from 3 - 6 pm for a guided walkthrough of the show led by the curators and artists. This exhibition gathers works that embrace the nonsensical, the funny, the tragically stupid, gestures that refuse order and legibility. Absurdity emerges as a survival mechanism; it is the lens through which we tether parts of our reality that feel incomprehensible, unseeable. Through exaggeration, misplacement, and humor, absurdity disrupts rational systems that demand coherence. Our artists cope and disrupt through absurdity as resistance, and Heavy Batter, allowing absurdity to surface as both form and method, pushes against regimes of sense-making that sustain exclusion and control. Bring your bibs and competitive spirit for a pie-eating contest as a final farewell to this amazing CCA-fueled exhibition. –Red Dogs
