Figure Drawing (Ballerina) in South Loop

Bring a sketchbook and join us on the stone steps at the Southbank Riverwalk for a morning of figure drawing with a live ballerina. We'll meet at Chicago's quieter riverwalk, not the crowded downtown stretch, but the south loop one, to sketch a ballerina against the skyline and river. All skill levels are welcome, from complete beginners to experienced artists. No instruction, no pressure; just draw, experiment, and enjoy the morning. At 10:30 AM we'll do a sketchbook throwdown (everyone lays their sketchbooks out on the ground so we can walk around and see what everyone created). Free coffee while they last. ☕ 📍 Southbank Riverwalk (the stone amphitheater steps along the river) 🗓️ Saturday, August 15 • 9:30 AM Bring whatever supplies you've got—pencil, pen, charcoal, watercolor, iPad, or a full easel. Come draw with us. EDIT: Rain plan; the forecast has rain Saturday morning, so we're heading indoors. We'll be at the art studio at The Cooper, 720 S Wells, about 30 seconds from the original spot. It has big windows, so we still get the light, the Sears Tower, and the river view without getting soaked. When you arrive, just tell the front desk you're there for the art studio on the 6th floor to see Dean. If the morning turns out dry we'll stay outside at the original location, the South Bank Riverwalk steps at 600 S Wells.
