**Scroll down and fill this form to place an order for pickup Wednesday 9/30, or to register your interest in other days/locations, so we can hopefully coordinate one closer to you!** Based on your location, transportation, schedule, or budget, you may not be able to get to the Brighton Farmers Market in person, so we are offering the ability to pre-order locally-grown produce from farm vendors at the Brighton Farmers Market for pickup later in the evening (or potentially at other times). We are picking up multiple orders, so we have the ability to aggregate costs and offer a sliding-scale food payment option, meaning if you can't pay as much for food, you can still get the same amount of food. Suggested payments range from $5-50, with an at-cost payment of $30, where anything more than that ensures that it's possible for us to subsidize the cost of food for people joining at a lower price point. The objective is to collaborate on a community-led and community-wide service with varied times and locations. While you drop in to take home your bag of local produce (such as apples, greens, sweet potatoes, tomatoes, and more!), you can also pick up some good vibes by dropping in on a vinyl listening session! Bigger picture: can we grow our food system to be one where affordable access to local, fresh, in-season produce is built into the existing community spaces we already have? That’s the question we’re testing out with this initiative as part of the Allston-Brighton Health Collaborative’s Food Access Working Group on Advocating for a Food Co-op. During community engagement session at the Brighton Farmers Market over the past two seasons, we spoke with many community members envisioning what bringing a food co-op (back) to Allston-Brighton could look like. The main priorities expressed were accessing affordable, fresh, and in-season locally-produced food, while bringing people together as a community. Rather than making access to food another errand for individuals, while needing significant investment in commercial real estate, can we form a network of partnerships with existing community spaces and daily routines that allow us to bring the local food we want to the places we already are?
