Come as you are! LADIES: choose shoes that you can turn in easily! PRO TIP TO ALL: you will likely be sweating, and will DEFINITELY be in someone else’s close personal space. Perfume/cologne is a plus, and mints/gum are a near necessity 😉✨
The summer has been WILD, has it not?!! If you’ve been itching to get out get moving in a way that is FUN for you or the whole family, this is for you! Learn Latin social dance, or just come for the music and the dance floor! Let’s send this summer off with a bang—for FREE!!
Located near historic Olvera St. in Los Angeles, the area is steeped in Latin culture. Whether you come with old friends or intend to make new ones, a feast for the eyes, belly, ears and spirit is guaranteed!
And don’t forget to come say hi! I’ll post what I’ll be wearing day-of so you can find me on the dance floor!
WHAT TO EXPECT:
• 6-7pm: FREE SALSA LESSON! If you're a newbie at this, never fear! Learn some basic moves to get you started on your salsa journey, and stay for the social dance portion after to practice!
• LOTS of people! The event gets PACKED, so be prepared!
There is a dance floor by the stage, and the surrounding area is covered in turf and concrete brick (unless things have changed since I was there last summer). *Please bring shoes that have enough slip and grip to handle turns and keep you safe.
• This event is LOUD. There is live music and a DJ. Consider this a family-friendly concert. I have seen babies present (like 1 or 2 years old), with and without noise-cancelling or dampening headphones. Please plan for yourself and any children accordingly.
• THEY WILL KICK YOU OUT ONCE THE MUSIC STOPS. If you plan on really getting those dance moves in, get there on time!
WHAT TO BRING:
• Your dancing shoes!
• Food/drink (optional. Will be plenty sold at venue)
• Your get down with the get down spirit!
PARKING:
May be found at various lots nearby for flat-rate prices ranging between $7 and $20, depending. I’ve had luck at the LA Plaza Village parking—by the end of the event, sometimes the arm is up, and you can leave without paying!
Please see the diagram at this link to plan, and the photos below for my personal recommendations:

And that's it! As always, get in touch with any questions, and I can't wait to see you out on the dance floor!!
