Join us for a salon exploring how speculative design and Hollywood concept worlds end up shaping the technologies, infrastructures, and decisions we build in real life.
The conversation will feature Danica Vallone, President and co-founder of Making Space Agency, a design, engineering, and prototyping studio working across aerospace and entertainment with clients including NASA, Axiom Space, Sierra Space, Vast, Disney, Netflix, and Warner Bros. She also serves as Creative Director at Global Effects and Designer in Residence at UC San Diego’s Design Lab, bridging filmmaking, aerospace, and speculative design.
Christian Lorenz Scheurer is a Swiss-born concept artist and art director who has shaped the visual worlds of The Fifth Element, The Matrix, Titanic, Superman, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, John Wick 3, Aquaman, and Dune: Prophecy, as well as games including Final Fantasy IX and Spore. For over three decades, his work has explored how imagined futures become visual systems—and how fiction can influence the technologies and worlds we build.
Full lineup TBA.
For designers, creative technologists, architects, engineers, founders, investors, and anyone interested in how imagined futures become physical ones.
