The California pipevine along Strawberry Creek is being dug up, and with it the one place on the UC Berkeley campus where the California pipevine swallowtail is born. We are gathering to rescue and replant as much of this living habitat as we can.
Come help us pot up rescued vines and cuttings, sort seed, and settle plants into good soil so they can be replanted properly in the cool dormant season, when pipevine actually survives a move. No experience needed. We will have tools, gloves, and pots, and someone to show you what to do.
Bring water, a hat, closed-toe shoes, and gardening gloves if you have them. Friends and kids welcome. Please RSVP so we can send the exact meeting spot and plan for tools and refreshments.
