Portals is a genre crossing live beat music dance event covering multple genres and vibes, While we specialize in live performances of beat music we also branch out into jazz, jam, electro acoustic,and ambient performances depending on the fit. In its third year running Portals is proud to continue the tradition of celebrating free spirited beat music with an instrumental fair and a tendancy towards improvisation. Our shows are always hand selected for cohesion and affordable and safe spaces for all attendees. Taking place in vinyl beauty bar this event will be a nice lowkey opportunity to hear some of Austin's most progressive beat music artists. With the sudden kind doing living painting and HollowEarth on projected visuals and a price tag of only $5 this event is your spot for up to get away from the hustle of the clubs and experiencing Austins best live beat music artists. //Lineup// VHU- VHU is the solo electronic/experimental music project of Austin-based artist, composer and producer Ana Barajas. Blending Andean influences, flute, and drums with ambient electronic sounds, VHU creates immersive, atmospheric music releafs- Releafs is an Austin-based electronic music artist and producer focused on trip-hop, leftfield bass, and sample-based music. They are known for collaborative projects, including the album Portals with HollowEarth, and explore digital identity, themes of surrealism, and electronic textures Driftside - Driftside is an Austin, Texas-based, live electronic collective blending, grimy pedal steel guitar, crunchy drums, trippy samples, keys, and processed woodwinds into a unique "jamtronica" or ambient electronic sound. Known for, heavy, ambient and improvisational performances. Ultraspace - Is a an improvisational Jazz Collective lead by drummer Jayk Wilson. They blend fusion, astral, and free jazz into a free flowing improv set where anything can happen.
