About the Show
Bluebirds is a bold new Golden Age-inspired musical, fresh out of developmental readings and recently selected as part of the Table Read Co. program. With sweeping romance, sharp wit, and a soaring score, it reclaims the classic Broadway sound to tell LGBTQ+ stories that were never allowed to exist in that world. Bluebirds features music and lyrics by Joseph Colaneri, a New York City-based composer and music educator whose work blends classical and contemporary storytelling, and book/additional lyrics by Jacqueline Birgitte Hennessy, an award-winning NJ writer/performer whose work has been featured in the New York Theater Festival, Bluebirds is both nostalgic and urgently of-the-moment. Join us at The Green Room 42 for a one-day-only concert presentation of an exciting new musical at the start of its journey.
