How to play mahjong

GATHER TWO is teaming up with HIT MAHJONG CLUB for a Saturday afternoon of handcrafted drinks, community, and mahjong 🀄️☕️ Come enjoy open mahjong tables with friendly teachers for beginners who want to learn, plus space for experienced players to jump in and play. We’ll also have a cozy coffee bar with fun mahjong-inspired drinks to sip while you settle in. Whether you’re brand new or already know your way around the tiles, there’s a seat for you at the table. Invite a friend or two and see you there! FAQ 1. What is mahjong? How do you play it? Mahjong is a centuries old game where four players take turns taking and discarding tiles to complete a winning hand, similar to rummy or poker. Is the event free? Yes! Our open mahjong tables are free for anyone to join and play. We’ll also have handcrafted drinks (and potentially snacks!) available for purchase at the Gather Two coffee bar. 3. Is there parking? Yes! Free parking is available at JT Cafe (tell the attendant that you’re here with Tapestry) and Bo Daddy’s Barbecue (leave a note on your dashboard saying “Tapestry”). Metered street parking is also available nearby. 4. Can I drink or smoke? No, sorry! Please refrain from smoking, drinking, and other substances on site as Tapestry LA is generously hosting us. Let’s be respectful and have fun!
